Peeters, Leuven, pp. 89-103.
The article argues that in 1298 Jan II of Brabant (upon the reception of his accolade by King Edward I), assumed the heraldic insignia of the Welsh king Llewelyn ap Gruffed (killed 1282 in battle against English): a shield in four heraldic parts, and a banner showing the Arthurian dragon helmet.
